BRING YOUR CAMERA!

The event organizers have agreed to a maximum of 5 photographers (plus me) for this event. 3 will be in theatre and 3 will be backstage/green room and then we will switch at intermission. If you are interested (and for sure) inbox me on facebook or email jkretzer@cityofgp.comI will update the event if/when it is full. We will meet outside the theatre doors at 1 pm.

The organizers are very interested in having us share some pictures for this event with them, so please be prepared to do that. It is the 25th Anniversary of the event and if you’ve ever watched people (especially older people) play fiddle, you’ll know how much passion there is….it would be terrific to provide them with some photos!

No flash photography in the theatre, not sure about the green room. Bring your fast lenses/tripods. Please wear dark colored clothing to minimize distraction.

Field Trip: Dunvegan Gardens, Wednesday, May 9th 6:30 pm

Come out to Dunvegan Gardens greenhouse (south on highway 40, just beyond City Limits sign) for the Club’s annual flower (and other stuff) field trip. Bring a tripod if you have one.

Field Trip: Kleskun Hills Park, Wednesday, May 30th 6:30 pm

Located on highway 43 toward Edmonton. Meet at the gates and we’ll go from there…lots to see/photograph at this location.

Field Trip: Mountain Bike Snow Cross
Saturday, March 31 12pm – 2 pm (to be confirmed)
Event takes place in the terrain park. Need to confirm time…website says something different than the marketing guy stated. Dress for the weather and we’ll see you there.

Field Trip: Slush Cup
Sunday, April 1 12:30-3 pm
Event takes place on the hill, ends near the “pond”. Meet at the chalet at 11:45 am. We will be provided passes to ride the chair down (rather than walk). Dress for the weather. Dress your camera for the conditions…a “raincoat” has been recommended!

Please note: If you attend any of these field trips, please be prepared to share some of your best “water-marked” shots with Nitehawk for their use – websites, advertisements, etc. I will collect these shots from participants after the fact!

Weather looks to be nicer as we head toward next weekend. Looks pretty nice for Sunday as well.

Eligibility

• Contest is open to all photographers that reside or work within the PAZA boundaries.
• Youth category is open to anyone younger than 18 as of January 1, 2012
• All photos must be taken within the PAZA boundaries.
• PAZA employees and Board members are not eligible

Entries and Identification

• There is a limit of five photograph entries per photographer
• Entries must include the following information: Photographer name, address, phone number and location the photo was taken
• Identify Youth or Adult Category
• Individuals pictured in each entry must sign a release
• Each photograph must be titled

Publication

Entries may be used for PAZA’s Annual Report or in other marketing materials. PAZA reserves the non-exclusive right to publish or use any entry in PAZA promotional material

Adult 1st: $300
2nd: $200
3rd: $100

Youth 1st: $200
2nd: $100

Submission Specifications

• E-mailed photos must be sent in as JPEGs
• Each photo file must be of original file size
• Photos can be in colour or black and white
• Printed photos are accepted as 5×7 un-mounted prints—note they will NOT be returned
• Photos may be submitted on a CD
• Do not digitally manipulate the content of the photo
• The photo may be digitally enhanced for colour and exposure (global edits are okay)

Judging

Entries will be judged by PAZA based on relevancy to category, composition and creativity. Judges decisions are final. PAZA thanks everyone for entering.
